Be Broadband has launched their Broadband Heaven campaign – ‘Don’t get up to 8meg, get more than 8meg’

Be Broadband is the UK’s fastest broadband ISP provider, who aim to provide its members with the best Internet service, with the best products, at the best possible price. There is a number of signs to indicate that your current broadband provider is not performing to their maximum capability.

  •  If you are trying to view videos on YouTube or iPlayer and it always stop and say ‘buffering’ it means that your broadband connection isn’t fast enough to handle the media you are watching.
  •  If you keep losing connection then your providers signal strengths are not running at optimal speeds. Poor reliability can be tortuous, especially if you spend a lot of time doing stuff online
  •  Some broadband providers try to cram more users onto their exchange than others. To make sure it still works they throttle their customers’ speed down, causing slow downloads and severe lag when gaming.
  •  If it take ages to download music, movies or TV shows then your broadband connection is running too slowly to attain suitable downloading speeds.

Managing Director of Be Broadband, Felix Geyr, said:

‘Be has always strived to be transparent and honest to its customers. Coupled with
the recent launch of Be’s speed estimation tool, new customers can check the speed they will receive, rather than the ‘up to’ that other ISPs provide. As Be offers currently offers the fastest broadband in the UK according to many independent sources, for many customers this will mean they can get more than 8meg. We look forward to offering more of the UK’s broadband customers our excellent service and welcoming them to broadband heaven.’

Only a month after it launched, Virgin mobile broadband has announced that existing cable and ADSL broadband customers can sign up for a dongle contract for as little as a £5!

The new package is likely to tempt users who are hungry for connectivity on the go but at the same time trying to tighten their financial belts. The mobile broadband market currently sees the likes of 3, T-Mobile and Vodafone all going head to head on cut-price deals to both new and existing customers in an effort to grab a decent share of the market.

Customers already signed to Virgin’s top 2 packages, XL or L, can take advantage of the £5 offer, with all the other Virgin packages costing £10 a month for mobile broadband. Users signing a 12 month contract will get a 1GB bundled data allowance per month, though the USB 3G will cost £25.
Virgin Media’s managing director for mobile, Graeme Oxby, said -

‘Our 1GB mobile broadband is great for people who need fixed-line broadband but also want access to the internet on the move. This new bundle offers the safety net of considerably cheaper rates if customers go over their monthly data allowance.’
