Orange Broadband plan to up their fixed broadband service to 20Mbps to a select few customers for the same price as their 8Mbps service. Orange is looking to test the stability and performance of its new network bandwidth before offering it to the rest of their customers.

Orange’s director of broadband, Asif Aziz, said –

This trial is an important step in enabling us to offer up to 20 Meg home broadband to consumers across our network.

This major upgrade to the Orange broadband service is seen as the largest improvement to their fixed internet service to date, and is in line with Ofcom giving BT Total Broadband the green light for their £1.5 billion next-generation network.
