Tiscali TV Announce Expansion Plans
Posted by ross under Broadband , TV , Tiscali Broadband , Tiscali TVBroadband and TV provider Tiscali has announced that it will be making its Television service available to over 5 million households and plans to double this before the end of 2007. Historically, Tiscali TV has only been available in selected areas such as London, M25 ring and the North West of England, however, this move will see availability in the following new areas – Warrington, Leicester, Liverpool, Salford, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Hemel Hempstead with further expansion to Scotland and the North East in October this year.
To coincide with going national Tiscali will be also be launching new service packs including a ‘five pound variety pack’ which will give over 50 digital TV channels plus access to over 1000 on demand, pay per view films. The pricing of other service packs is also very competitive at six pounds for the ‘entertainment extra’ pack. Existing Tiscali broadband customers will be able to get Tiscali TV without incurring any set up costs, a free set top box and a free wireless modem. Non Tiscali customers will pay thirty pounds for installation. We think that Tiscali TV will be a real winner as it’s a great price and offers consumers a lot more than freeview, but without the premium prices that Sky TV and Virgin Media charge.
