Broadband TV Phone
Welcome to the Broadband-TV-Phone Blog

Vodaphone will be the first phone company to offer unlimited mobile broadband access in the UK. Since launching the internet on mobiles, the market has witnessed a huge amount of growth in services. It seems that having instant availability on the move to email, messaging and the use of social networking tools, such as Facebook and Myspace, is now imperative to consumers. Pay monthly customers with now automatically receive internet access instead of having to buy an additional bundle for £7.50.

Director for Vodafone UK Ian Shepherd explained:

‘With our new price plans, Vodafone customers have the confidence to browse for as long as they need with no extra costs when checking their email, visiting their favourite social sites or making a final bid on eBay.’

Great news for Vodaphone customers across the globe, as the company has now tied down a deal with Apple to be their sole network provider in 10 countries.

After losing out to O2 in the UK and Germany, the new worldwide partnership ensures Apple iPhone networking privileges for Vodaphone in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey.

The phone itself combines perfectly as an MP3 player, telephone and wireless internet connection, giving people on the move the multimedia platform of their dreams. The model to be launched globally is likely to be the latest ‘second-generation’ version that supports the faster 3G networks, which has just been released in the United States.

Vodaphone chief executive Russell Hewitt said

“The iPhone has already proved to be extremely popular and Vodafone is confident that today’s announcement will be well received around the world by people who are keen to get their hands on the new iPhone.”

The upturn in sales of mobile broadband is set to make Wi Fi areas redundant, according to sources at Ericsson. In Sweden already the most popular phone is the USB Modem, whilst this year in Austria sales of mobile broadband are set to overtake the fixed broadband market. In the UK fixed broadband figures are still strong, but with prices dropping and people on the move more often, the swing in the market seems inevitable. T Mobile currently offer unlimited mobile broadband from as little as £15 a month, with a top speed of up to 1.8mps.

With big name providers such as Vodafone offering up to 7.2Meg in speed and T-Mobile offering unlimited mobile broadband, whilst both cutting their prices in half to start from just £15.00 - the UK certainly seems to be monitoring the trend in other countries by making USB broadband more affordable for the roaming user.

Vodafone were one of the pioneers in offering broadband on the move via their mobile broadband technology. I’m sure we’ve all seen (or even been one of!) those snazzy guys on the trains working away on their laptops with a red Vodafone datacard poking out - to me they always seemed to be a bit expensive - well not anymore! Vodafone have slashed their prices in half for the lifetime of your contract so you can now get up to 7.2Meg high speed mobile broadband for just £15 a month!

Vodafone Mobile Broadband

With the price coming down and download speeds rising on mobile broadband this is starting to become a real alternative to home broadband packages. £15 a month for speeds of up to 7.2Meg compares pretty well to the current top 10 broadband offers and with Vodafone mobile broadband more affordable it is now not just for business users. It’s perfect if you move around a lot e.g. whilst travelling, living in rented accommodation, student etc as the broadband is tied to your usb dongle, not the location or even computer that you use!
