Thus launches managed Ethernet / Friday, September 12, 2008
Thus has announced the launch of its managed Ethernet access and services.
It claims that it can offer improved SDH-like management for Ethernet access and connectivity services by leveraging the latest management standards.
According to the telecommunications provider, consumers using the new managed Ethernet access connections will have greater service assurance and reliability as a result of the "crucial" first mile from customer site to next-generation networks being fully managed.
This technology can be used to access MPLS IPVPN, Internet and IP Exchange Line services from Thus.
Nigel Stevens, product director at the company, said: "Proactively managing the first mile connection allows us to make a significant difference to the level of service we can guarantee."
He added that Thus is one of the first providers in the UK to offer this solution and has built on its experience of delivering next-generation access to consumers.
Earlier this month, the company signed a contract to provide managed next-generation network provision to relocatable modular accommodation firm SiBCAS.
