1. General
These terms and conditions, together with any additional terms, notices and disclaimers contained elsewhere on the Broadband TV Phone (BTP) website (collectively the Terms of Use) comprise the conditions on which you may have access to the BTP website and use of content and other services on the BTP website. Your continued access and use of the BTP website constitutes your ongoing acceptance and acknowledgment of these Terms of Use, as amended from time to time. If you object to any of these conditions, you must immediately discontinue your access to and use of the BTP website.
These Terms of Use are governed by the law in force in the United Kingdom. Both you and BTP irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom and courts of appeal from them.
2. Copyright
The BTP website is the copyright property of BTP or applicable third parties. Subject to the conditions prescribed under appropriate Copyright Acts or similar statutes that apply in your location, you may not, in any form or by any means, adapt, reproduce, store, distribute, transmit, print, display, perform, publish or create derivative works from any part of the BTP website without the written permission of an authorised representative of BTP.
3. Trademarks
Product and company names mentioned herein may be trademarks and / or service marks of their respective owners. The trademarks, logos and service marks displayed on the BTP website are the property of their respective owners.
4. Errors, Omissions or Discrepancies
Every effort has been made to ensure that the BTP website works correctly and that the information contained within it is accurate and up to date. A new report released this week suggests that the United Kingdom has begun to lag when it comes to broadband speeds. The report titled "state of the internet" and authored by consultancy Akami suggests that during the first quarter of this year, the UK held the 27th spot in a ranking 0f 201 countries, and that broadband users had an average speed of 2.8 Mbps.
Virgin Media Broadband came out on top of OFCOM's 10MB and 20MB UK speed comparison tests, whose figures were published on Tuesday 27th July 2010. In both studies Virgin Media offered almost DOUBLE the average broadband speed of the nearest competitor between the peak hours of 8-10pm.
