If you live in a cabled area you are likely to have received some fliers through the post about Virgin Media's outstanding product offering on broadband, TV and phone. The result of a merger between Telewest & NTL along with their own Virgin.net ADSL service, the well publicised rebrand to Virgin Media has seen a large uptake in subscriptions to add to their already huge customer base.

Our Review :
"Virgin Media's standalone cable broadband offers something for everyone with the budget Size M costing just £4.50 a month when taken with a phone line for 2Meg broadband (more than enough for most people) up to the 20MB behemoth that is Size XL a month which at £10.00 is halprice for the first 3 months when taken with a phone line. Also because the broadband is delivered by cable you get a lot quicker average speeds than you would receive from ADSL providers."
Virgin Media's access to the cabled network enables them to offer broadband speeds of up to a massive 20Mbps for downloads and 768Kb for uploads. The 20Mbps broadband is not yet available in all cable areas but Virgin Media will be rolling it out throughout 2007 and those whose area has not yet been upgraded will still be able to access the internet at super quick speeds of 10Mbs. Also as the service provision is via cable you are a lot more likely to hit the top speeds available as you are not restricted by your distance from an exchange or quality of cabling like you are with ADSL.
All /new customers also receive a FREE Modem, Anti-virus software and Firewall - pretty much everything you need to get online safely and quickly. as well as £10 off for buying online.
Virgin Media are one of the first providers to offer quad play - TV, broadband, phone and mobile phone all on one bill. Each service can be purchased individually as can be seen here with their cable broadband but you make the most savings by taking on a Virgin Media bundle such as their 3 for £30 or 4 for £40 packages.
